Emma was born and raised by the shores of Deer Lake in the shadow of the majestic Metrotown (Burnaby B.C., she’s from Burnaby). Emma has always tackled adversity head on; she didn’t let her lack of rhythm hold her back from pursuing her dream of becoming a ballerina. Unfortunately, the world wasn’t ready for an uncoordinated ballerina and she decided to pursue medicine instead. Since then she has traded in her ballet shoes and tutu for a pair of mismatched rubber shoes and XXS scrubs and spends her days pirouetting around the ED in Kelowna, not unlike a Disney princess.
Outside of work Emma can be found plotting ways to kidnap cute puppies she sees on the street, collecting inordinate amounts of free merchandise at medical conferences, and reliving her glory days as a prima ballerina by dancing in the car while blasting Spice Girls. She also loves to cook, sip kombucha on the beach, and practice yoga.
Emma was drawn to Kelowna for its breathtaking scenery, climate, and the amazing EM residents. One day she hopes to learn how to ride a bike so she can ride with Alex, Damian, Ryan, Fran, Sean…pretty much everyone but Steve. Emma has a big heart and quiet voice and makes an excellent addition to our EM family. We’re glad she’s joined us in Kelowna!
