Farm raised. Free range. Oh wait… we’re describing chickens. Oddly enough, those phrases also apply to this new resident hailing from Saskatchewan, who is no chicken. Caitlin brings her hardworking attitude and sometimes bizarre farming knowledge to the field of emergency medicine.
Before medical school, she completed her undergraduate degree and a PhD in neuroscience at the University of Saskatchewan. To our delight, Caitlin traded in her lab coat (and mice friends) and found her true calling in the bustling ER. She relishes the challenge of working up the undifferentiated patient, being a part of a large team, and getting involved in high acuity cases.
In her downtime, you might find Caitlin at home with her newly adopted Bengal kitten or crafting exquisite stained-glass pieces and acrylic paintings. But don’t be fooled by her artistic side – she’s equally at home battling virtual foes in her favorite video games. Her passion for adventure also extends beyond medicine; with 105 West Coast hikes on her residency bucket list, she’s always up for a challenge. If you can’t find her doing any of these activities, she’s probably out paddleboarding or eating at one of the countless amazing restaurants in Vancouver. With her unique blend of scientific curiosity, artistic flair, and adventurous spirit, Caitlin is excited to conquer residency on the West Coast – one patient, one hike, and one delicious meal at a time
