Alisha’s roots run deep in the shores of BC. Raised on the not-so-distant beaches of White Rock, she grew up perfecting the art of applying sunscreen and believing that ice cream is its own food group. Despite her strong ties to the Pacific Northwest, she’s developed an incurable case of the travel bug, with Antarctica currently at the top of her bucket list. Legend has it she’s never experienced jet lag and navigates life’s chaos with the same ease as an overnight shift, fueled only by Vancouver’s finest coffee beans. With her sense of adventure and lack of circadian rhythm, it’s no wonder she fell in love with Emergency Medicine.
After a stint in Montreal to study Molecular Biology, her journey back home to the shores of the Pacific has been nothing short of an adventure. When she’s not in the ED or diving deep into the intricacies of the social determinants of health, you can find her regularly over-caffeinated, making fast friends with your four-legged companions, crushing workouts at F45, and asking for travel recommendations while she plans her next adventure.
Now, armed with a Master’s of Public Health and a passion for social emergency medicine and addictions care, she is ready to embrace this next adventure on the ground floor of VGH.
