Meet Ciara, our resident with a seemingly boundless reserve of energy! Although born and raised in Toronto, she spent the past decade in Kingston where she completed her undergrad and medical studies at Queen’s. As a former varsity field hockey star and president of a med student social community (aka a frat house), she is thrilled to be pursuing a career in the chaotic, team-oriented environment of the Emergency Department on the West Coast!
You can often spot Ciara rollerblading along Vancouver’s seawall- her favorite mode of transport- or taking photos of the sunset on her film camera and exploring breweries across town. Despite her active lifestyle, she has a major sweet tooth and can often be seen on shift with a chocolate milk and a pack of Welch’s. Beyond the ED, Ciara is happiest when traveling, scuba diving, playing sports, cracking (bad) jokes, and dancing at concerts and music festivals!
Ciara is so excited to be joining the amazing UBC EM team and can’t wait to further explore her interests in global health, addictions and dive medicine!
