Faster than trouble, this resident is tough to pin down. Whether she’s summiting mountains, scaling frozen waterfalls, or hunting down last tracks in July, you never know where she’ll show up next. This ex-racecar driving, rock climbing, adrenaline junkie loves fast-paced environments, impromptu trips, and anything peach.
Hailing from the rugged North Shore in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Katie’s first taste of life in the mountains came after a one-way ticket turned into a new home base in New Zealand. After a brief hiatus, she came home to finish her degrees in Psychology and Biology and start a clinical practice as a Psychometrist, with frequent trips West to get her fill of alpine air.
She fell in love with the Interior after touring the powder highway and has spent the bulk of her free time exploring mountain ranges around the globe, with the uncanny ability to optimize even the shortest turnaround times into big adventures.
This NOSM transplant couldn’t be happier to be based in the Okanagan, working towards her Diploma in Mountain Medicine and diving into the world of prehospital care, as she hones a skill set she can bring back to any environment she’s working within, from the trauma bay to base camp.
