Katie was born and raised in Winnipeg. She made the most of her winters making snow angels, crafting homemade greetings cards and driving countless hours to the mountains whenever she had a chance. She finally found an excuse to live at the foot of them after completing an elective at VGH in medical school. The friendly resident crew made awesome teachers and the volume and acuity was unparalleled. The Vancouver program immediately stole her heart. When she’s not in the ED, you can find her in the mountains, biking, running and looking for any excuse to sleep in a tent.
