Recovering from a brief stint in management consulting, Parker has exchanged east coast corporate America for west coast med school and residency. Although he sometimes misses the jet-set glamour of business travel, he has come to love the clamour and bustle of a busy emergency department. A fifth generation Vancouverite, Parker has bounced around, living in Kingston, Barcelona, and Boston before returning home for medical training. He’s happy to be back and surrounded by 400 of his closest family members – seriously, his family had a reunion recently where over 400 people showed up.
Contrary to the EM stereotype, Parker is not particularly athletic, nor does he engage in many adrenaline sports (the on-shift thrills are more than enough). Instead, he enjoys hosting cheese-themed dinner parties, skiing in the winter, carefully optimizing his credit card miles, and (although his skill does not match his enthusiasm) playing tennis.
